In fact, I did start my Commonplace Books about 30 years ago and I've saved it now as an electronic document, divided by year.

I've also printed it and it now runs for over two volumes of about 600, single spaced, double sided pages.

Better to keep it as a Word Document, since it's also easier to work with. Many of my quotations are drawn from that version.Richard Katzevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03466537940588392927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8215036862051955994.post-41926620457351467562012-06-29T05:43:00.628-10:002012-06-29T05:43:00.628-10:00I do the same thing, and I am so far behind in get...I do the same thing, and I am so far behind in getting them transferred into my CPB. I guess I can take heart in the fact that winter is coming, and perhaps I will be able to catch up then. Problem is, a Commonplace is truly close to a living organism, it continues to grow and change overtime. I have only been in "practice" about 5 years, but I wish I would have started 30 years ago.

I enjoy your blog, and look forward to each new post. It is ideal for traveling. Still I miss the print books as you do; I'll get back to those in America.

And as I've noted I've learned how to highlight passages I want to save and that means a great deal to me and the way I read. Amazon collects them for me on my Kindle page, so when I'm done with the book, I need only collect and copy them.

Thanks for your comment.Richard Katzevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03466537940588392927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8215036862051955994.post-67672133903701339332012-06-29T04:57:27.236-10:002012-06-29T04:57:27.236-10:00What next? Amazing.
I miss many things about book...What next? Amazing.

I miss many things about books when I am using my Kindle, the feel of the paper along with the visual details. I notice it with the Bible more than anything.

Having said that, I am able to read much more now than before I got a Kindle. The portability enables me to keep a large number of books with me that I would not be able to access whenever I have a spare moment. I guess maybe it is what I would have to term as a mixed blessing.crofterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01977273055291702683noreply@blogger.com
