Some would have called it "true love." Whatever it was, there was a time when I did not think I could exist without him. Now, with sufficient time and space, the only remaining emotion is good will and I find that I exist exceedingly well without him.Lindahttps://commonplacefortheuncommon.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8215036862051955994.post-63706855682196048982017-10-04T03:52:48.704-10:002017-10-04T03:52:48.704-10:00Linda:

But who keeps a record of such recollection and who can verify the original experience?

Yes, memory is a fascinating experience.

No first love? No last love? Sure, first crush counts. I do recall my first crush and her name and I often wonder whatever happened to Judy M.

Richard

Richard Katzevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03466537940588392927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8215036862051955994.post-27917959619516135642017-10-04T03:02:50.760-10:002017-10-04T03:02:50.760-10:00I've read that memories are not constant or fi...I've read that memories are not constant or fixed, that every time our brain retrieves and examines a memory, that memory is altered in some way. That makes sense to me. We change as we go through life, so our perspective changes, attitudes change, our reactions are different.
Memories become modified. Fascinating to contemplate.

I cannot remember my first "love." Does first crush count? I have a hazy memory of it, tinged with embarrassment at the sophomoric drama, but cannot at all remember the object of it. Maybe that's for the best.Lindahttps://commonplacefortheuncommon.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8215036862051955994.post-11301960968414007832017-10-03T03:55:27.927-10:002017-10-03T03:55:27.927-10:00Dom:

If my recollection is a negative one, I imagine I would feel a bit downcast.

As for happiness, I have never been sure what that is. What is happiness? Good mood? Contentment? Pleasure? I sure don't know.

RichardRichard Katzevhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03466537940588392927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8215036862051955994.post-86930192382483407032017-10-02T13:53:16.069-10:002017-10-02T13:53:16.069-10:00Do you think that you would be happier, or less ha...Do you think that you would be happier, or less happy, if your memories accurately reflected the events that you recall from time to time?Domhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18314179629833165321noreply@blogger.com
